The detail

Kitting out a market pitch or festival stand

A pitch is usually sold by frontage, so the right kit depends on how much of it you have. Here is what each piece costs, what size to buy, and the things worth knowing before you order.

Match the canopy to your frontage

Most market pitches are sold as a 3m frontage, which is why the 3m x 3m gazebo is the usual starting point. The Eco square-leg frame is £476, the hexagonal-leg Standard is £510, and the Deluxe is £664 in a slightly tighter 2.8m x 2.8m footprint.

If you have a double pitch, one larger canopy is quicker to put up than two frames levelled against each other. The 3m x 4.5m is £714 and the 3m x 6m is £914. Walls are priced to match: a 3m full wall is £99, a 4.5m is £157 and a 6m is £206, with half walls at £65, £88 and £115.

Every gazebo arrives with the printed canopy, the frame, a carry bag, pegs and guide ropes.

The table earns its keep

A tablecloth is at eye level for everyone standing at your stall and costs a fraction of the canopy above it. A half hanging cloth at 1.45m x 2.5m is £85, a fitted trestle cover at 1.8m x 0.8m x 0.7m is £131, the stretch fitted version is £135, and a full hanging cloth at 2m x 3m is £156.

Fitted and stretch fitted sit tight to a standard trestle, which looks tidier on a busy row. Hanging cloths suit tables of odd sizes because they drape rather than fit.

Height, and what stands it up

Feather flags carry your name above the crowd. A Finn at 0.73m x 3m is £81 single-sided and £139 printed both sides. The Smart Telescopic is the lighter option at £65 for a 3m single-sided flag.

Flags are sold without a base. A ground spike is £9 for grass, a water bag is £9 for tarmac, and an indoor crossover stand is £27. Buy it with the flag.

At ground level, an A-frame pavement banner is £145 at 2m x 1m and holds its own in wind because it is weighted rather than staked. For a bigger footprint, the Smart Space Shade covers 10m x 10m at £963.

Common questions

What size gazebo fits a standard market pitch?
A 3m frontage is the common pitch size, so the 3m x 3m gazebo is the usual choice at £476 to £664 depending on the frame. For a double pitch the 3m x 4.5m at £714 or the 3m x 6m at £914 covers it in one canopy.
Will it survive a wet Scottish market day?
The cover is water resistant and the frame is anodised aluminium, so it does not rust when it travels wet. It is temporary event shelter rather than a permanent structure, so take it down in high wind and store it dry. Treated that way it lasts years.
Which tablecloth should I get?
A fitted cover at £131 sits tight to a standard trestle and looks tidiest. A half hanging cloth at £85 is the least expensive and drapes over tables of any size. Both are printed to your artwork.
Do the flags come with a base?
No, every flag is sold without one. A ground spike is £9, a water bag for hard standing is £9, and an indoor crossover stand is £27.
How long does it take?
Seven to ten working days from the point you approve the artwork. UK mainland delivery is £20 and VAT is added at the standard 20%. Tell us the date of your first market when you enquire.
